Does Denver, Colorado Have Jobs for Writers and Editors?
Ophe1ia41 asked:
I’m a Californian looking to become a Coloradoan, specifically a Denveritte (or whatever you prefer), for no other reason than to have a change of scene. My problem: I am a young professional writer and editor (not fiction, but everything else, and I’m also a freelance journalist - who isn’t?) and every job source I check, such as Craigslist or Mediabistro, depresses me - writing-related jobs and gigs seem non-existent or are strictly related to marketing in small companies.
Am I overlooking something? To the writers/editors/journalists in the Denver area: How do you like it there?

Mediabistro lists 5 jobs in Denver; the Denver Post forwards you to HotJobs (these sound like the “depressing” types you mention. Keep in mind — for relocation, you may need to widen what you’ll accept.
I was in Loveland last weekend signing promoting one of my books.
Really good steak in Denver, and lots of big data companies are headquartered around there. And the weather can change really quickly temperature-wise.
You may need to take a more mundane job and do the journalism on the side. Or find a region with lots of publishing jobs for your change of scene.
I don’t know about Denver specifically, I do know that in Boulder and in Fort Collins, there are mostly environmental publications and on the local papers and magazines on the “great out doors” and such. That seems to be what Colorado is really big on. Just google writing/environment in COlorado and see what you come with.
